Insect visitors again

A couple of recent additions to the insect list are shown below.  The caterpillar is a “best guess” ID but the species is variable in colouration and we have the right trees in the right climatic zone, so it must be a relative at least.

Close-banded Yellowhorn (Colocasia propinquilineai) or a good friend at least

Didn’t now about this fellow  and had to seek advice from a professional – less than an inch long and apparently an immature Assassin Bug … that’s a pretty broad group, but he’s of ther species Zelus luridus (family: Reduviidae) and a good thing to have aorund as they efficiently hunt flies, wasps and general insect pests.
