Thanksgiving birds

Thanksgiving actually turned out rather grey and damp but reports of some interesting shorebirds had us make a trip to Anse à l’Orme … most of the crowd seen yesterday had departed but we did see some Greater Yellowlegs and a pair of Long-billed Dowitchers sewing away in the shallow water and mud.

Coming home we found that some of the Wood Duck were still with us in the bay down the road. Earlier we had the company of White-throated Sparrows and a Brown Creeper in the garden.
